The Department of Behavioral Science at Utah Valley University (UVU) invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month contract, professionally qualified Field Education Director position to provide leadership in the Master of Social Work (MSW) field education program through practice experience, field instruction experience, and administrative and other relevant academic and professional activities in social work. The MSW program is currently in Candidacy status for accreditation with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The MSW Program has a diverse make-up of students who bring a variety of perspectives and professional experiences to their studies. The program operates on a hybrid model, where courses are delivered in a combination of face-to-face and online interactions.
At least 50% of the MSW Field Education Director's time will be assigned to carry out the administrative functions of the field education program including but not necessarily limited to field education program development, management, supervision, and ensuring compliance with all CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards regarding Field education. The remainder of the MSW Field Education Director's time will be divided between teaching an academic course load and evaluating instruction/learning within the MSW program, advising MSW students during regularly scheduled office hours or at other times as needed, and attending meetings and providing service as required by the program, the department, and the university.

Graduation from an accredited institution with a MSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program.
A minimum of two years post-masters social work practice experience.
Teaching experience in social work or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and skills regarding current pedagogical theories, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.
- Ability to teach masters level courses
- Knowledge of field practicum.
- Skills in teaching, mentoring, and commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary collegiate team environment.
- Familiarity with CSWE and EPAS.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in knowledge and practice in social work field education.
Strong preference will be given to applicants with a successful record of academic or field education program administration experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of field practicum agencies in the local area (Utah County and neighboring counties).
Frequent standing, sitting, and walking; continuous ability to see, hear, and speak; Able to lift up to 10 pounds; frequent fine hand manipulation as associated with the use of a computer.
