Overview
The Fletcher School is the United States’ first professional graduate school of international affairs. Established at The Fletcher School of Tufts University in 1992 to meet the growing need for international environmental leaders, the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy (CIERP) develops innovative approaches to shift global development onto an environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable path. CIERP has strong competences in the EU, Brazil, China, and India.
What You'll Do
This is a grant-funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.
Under general supervision, the Program Coordinator provides advanced administrative support and coordination for a university program.
Specifically, the Program Coordinator:
- Produces a variety of documents, reports, proposals or materials.
- Responds to various inquiries, handling issues and providing relevant information to students, faculty, staff and other constituents.
- Organizes and maintains program files and databases, including a robust contact database. Updates and tracks research program information.
- Prepares summaries for meetings and seminars to be disseminated among participants and supports process of drafting and publication of seminar reports and related publications.
- Assists in writing, editing and designing email announcements, flyers and other promotional materials. Assists in updating website and posting social media material.
- Assists in coordinating logistics for meetings, seminars, lectures and other special events including planning events, determining venue and coordinating production of materials, audio visual and other set up needs. May make travel, payment and other arrangements for speakers and presenters.
- May provide guidance and work direction to student and temporary workers and assists in training other support staff.
- Administratively supports faculty and research fellows within the research center. Tasks include processing reimbursements, booking travel, managing course-related documentation, ordering supplies, and performing other tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through an Associate degree and 3-5 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite, website software such as WordPress or Squarespace, and an ability to learn new technology
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of professional experience in a large non-profit, government, or professional services environment
- Experience working with post-secondary student populations
- Demonstrated experience with diverse student populations and commitment to inclusiveness
- Event planning experience
- Advanced writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Experience managing/using professional social media accounts
- Knowledge or interest in climate policy and related topics
