Position:  Post-doctoral Extension Associate in Family, Home, and Consumer Science                                 Department: CAENS/Cooperative Extension/CISC

Status: Full-Time

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
This position seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Post-doctoral Extension Associate in Family, Home, and Consumer Science. The position will be responsible for executing needs assessments, followed by program development for senior citizens and families with caregivers as it fits into Extension programming and Alabama’s Critical Issues reference in the combined USDA-NIFA Plan of Work. This position is essential to align all programs delivered in all 20 plus counties aligned with accepted USDA outputs and outcomes and other USDA designated regulations. This position calls for excessive of travel and maybe stationed in a county office(s).

The successful candidate will:

Plans and conducts day-to-day assessment activities relating to assigned Extension projects; Uses professional concepts to contribute to the development of the Family and Consumer Science program base to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways; Adheres to protocols required for program development for clients; Follows guidelines on data entry, conservation, and sharing; Presents findings at internal and external meetings and conferences; Will contribute to research-based Extension publications as well as Extension proposals and grant applications in collaboration with TUCE/CISC staff; Retains accurate records of findings, along with analysis of results, in a detailed, up-to-date notebook; enters into a shared database Utilizes appropriate community engagement protocols; Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Extension or Director of CISC

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biological and/or Social Sciences, Adult Education, or relevant field Excellent communication skills Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills Demonstrate leadership skills Detail orientated Independent Self Starter/Team Player Computer literate

Salary
Commensurate with education, training, and experience
