Applications are invited for this exciting opportunity as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor within our Counsellor Education programmes.
The University of Waikato Counsellor Education programmes are known nationally and internationally for their focus on narrative approaches to counselling.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring professional and academic experience to be part of a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision in counselling programmes. You will have the skills and experience to provide leadership and innovation in teaching.
Along with teaching, your well defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities, develop a range of strategic research initiatives and engage with the professional community. Those seeking an appointment at the Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor levels will have a record of academic leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, encouragement and support for other academic staff in the pursuit of their academic objectives and the development of their professional careers within the discipline of counselling.
The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The salary will be in the range of Lecturer from $83,337 to $99, 551, Senior Lecturer from $102,280 to $134,175, or Associate Professor from $132,540 to $146,190 per year.

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?
You will have PhD in a relevant discipline with broad and in-depth knowledge of discipline areas that are relevant to the profession of counselling. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate recent counselling practices and evidence of your contribution to the enhancement of professional practice and community. If seeking a senior appointment (SL or AP), you will be expected to have a research and scholarship record at a national and international level, along with demonstrated excellence in teaching and successful postgraduate supervision experience in the discipline of counselling.
