The UB Social Development Lab examines the development and prevention of aggressive behavior, peer victimization, and bullying behavior among young children. We have several federally funded school readiness projects in the lab testing the transition from preschool to kindergarten. We are looking for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate who will serve as a project director for a 5-year NIH supported clinical trial testing a teacher implemented with coaching social and emotional skills program in preschool classrooms.

We use multiple methods (i.e., observational, child interviews, psychophysiological) and approaches within longitudinal designs to answer key questions about social development to inform prevention efforts. The incumbent will report to the principal investigator (Dr. Jamie Ostrov, Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training) and will serve as the project director supervising the Project team with:
  • administration of the daily functions of the research project
  • assisting with training
  • assist with data collection, data management and data analyses for this clinical trial
  • serve as a coach for teachers implementing the project
  • collaborate on research
  • present/publish findings
 
Incumbent will develop professionally through faculty mentorship, must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and willing to commit to at least 2 years in the position.
