American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates invites professional psychologists to apply for our new Professor of Practice faculty positions, within the Department of International Studies, beginning in Fall 2019. We seek candidates who are active psychology professionals in the UAE in any applied area of psychology, including but not limited to clinical, counseling, educational, school, neuro, behavioral and I/O psychology.

Successful candidates will have, at minimum, a professional licensure and terminal Master’s degree, though PhD, PsyD, MD, or equivalent degree in the relevant field are preferred. Other requirements include strong experience and skills in teaching-related activities, professional experience reflecting a strong commitment to psychological science, prior (or ongoing) contributions to scholarly activities in psychology, and an interest in contributing to student development. The position requires teaching three courses per year and involves service activities to the psychology program.

As a university formed on the American model and with English as the language of instruction, American University of Sharjah gives priority to candidates who have experience in American models of higher education.

We are in the final stages of securing initial accreditation for a new undergraduate program in psychology, to begin in 2019. As such, candidates should also indicate any interests, qualifications, or experiences related to undergraduate program development.
