Position Summary
The Department of Public Administration at the University of North Texas invites applications for an assistant professor of public administration for a nine-month tenure track position beginning August 2023 primarily focused on the area of local government management. The teaching responsibilities for this position include classes in the MPA and Ph.D. programs. Teaching in the undergraduate programs in Nonprofit Leadership Studies and Urban Policy and Planning, as well as the minor in Public Administration, may also be required. The Department is interested in candidates who can demonstrate the promise of a highly productive research agenda, a commitment to and the promise of externally funded scholarly research, and an interest in community engagement while supporting a 2-2 teaching load. Minimum Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in public administration or closely related field completed by August 2023.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach core courses in the Master of Public Administration degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates should have a documented research agenda in scholarly journals and demonstrate excellence in local government management.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching courses in leadership, human resources, and local government management in online, hybrid and in-person formats.
- Candidates should demonstrate a record of or the potential for external funding.
