Expertise: Marilyn's research interests center on exploring motivational aspects of information-seeking competence and behavior including perceived competence, autonomy, and social relatedness in both formal and informal learning environments. As curiosity is critical to scholarship, she is especially interested in the relationship between curiosity (i.e. willingness to explore until uncertainty is resolved) and perceived competence in information and digital literacies.
