His clinical research evaluates attachment and reflective functioning as mechanisms of change in psychodynamic and interpersonal psychotherapies, as well as the process of change in patients with personality disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. His research also evaluates deficits in effortful control, affect regulation, and social cognition in both college-age and personality disordered populations. He also maintains a private practice in psychotherapy in downtown Brooklyn.
