A primary goal of my research is to improve behavioral treatments for adults with obesity, particularly those with co-occurring emotional factors such as depression or emotional eating. I am specifically interested in augmenting traditional behavioral weight loss treatment with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills to target emotion dysregulation in overweight adults. I am also interested in improving our understanding of emotional eating by examining mechanisms associated with emotional eating behavior in the lab, including psycholophysiological responsivity.
