Most of the work in our lab examines the psychosocial and cultural determinants of ingestive and addictive behaviors, with a focus on the study of cravings for food (specifically perimenstrual and pregnancy cravings), alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Recent studies in our laboratory have focused on non-substance or behavioral addictions, for example to online social networking and video game use.
I maintain a long-standing interest in the study of psychosocial functioning in chronic illness, including breast cancer, HIV/AIDS, and multiple sclerosis.
