Dr. Damianakis’ primary research interests are in clinical and interdisciplinary health research. Over the past 15 years, she has been involved in multiple research initiatives: to develop and evaluate interventions which support caregivers of people with Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury and Bereavement; to examine psychosocial resources in recovery, resiliency (spirituality/religion, creativity and the arts, community networks) and health outcomes; and to examine the quality of care by way of institutional policies/procedures and professional practices (communication-interpersonal models). She was previously an instructor at the University of Toronto, has supervised a number of students on varied research projects, and continues to provide consultation to professionals and agencies.
