I have a proven track record of academic leadership and considerable international experience in Higher Education, having held substantive leadership and administrative roles in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. My previous leadership roles have included appointments as Head of School, Chairperson, Head of Department, and Deputy Head of School. A cornerstone of academic leadership for me has always been to lead by professional and personal example. It is essential to treat people with respect and to be professional in all aspects of one’s work. \r\nMy research expertise is predominantly in the areas of the experimental and applied analysis of behavior. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how schedules of reinforcement control behavior and what factors affect stimulus generalization and discrimination, health and well-being, educational psychology, basic experimental psychology, animal cognition, and welfare. I am also interested in the application of learning theory to a variety of areas in psychology, such as the study of addiction, self-control, education, and training.
