Expertise: Maya's research interests lie in the area of media and political identities, with particular focus on South Asia. She is currently supervising a study on production practices and processes in news programs in Australian commercial television and the hegemonic process. She welcomes HDR students interested in exploring issues relating to media in Asia within a socio-political framework
