The Department of Social Sciences at the University of Toronto -- Scarborough invites applications for a full-time, Tenure-stream Position in Development Economics in the International Development Studies Program.
The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2010.
Candidates who specialize in the Economics of Smaller Enterprises in Developing Countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of research and scholarship and be able to communicate effectively as an Undergraduate teacher. She/he will be expected to teach a core course in the Political Economy of Development, including International Economics and Trade, in the International Development Studies Program and to develop senior Undergraduate courses. The successful candidate will also be appointed to a related Graduate Department in the University of Toronto and may have the opportunity to participate in developing new Graduate Programs at Scarborough.
The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment or be near completion and must demonstrate excellence in teaching and research.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
