Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, dedicated to student learning, research, health care and service, is seeking applicants for a tenure-track appointment, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, to begin Fall 2010 -— pending administrative approval.
The areas of specialization are open, but the Department has interests in the Sociology of Law, Sociology of Health/Medicine or Criminology/Deviant Behavior.
The successful candidate will have strong social science training, in theory and research methodology and help build relations with either the School of Law or School of Medicine.
Position responsibilities include conducting and publishing research and teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
Ph.D. is preferred, but ABD will be considered.
The Sociology and Criminal Justice Department currently has 15 full-time faculty positions, 200 undergraduate majors, a Master’s degree program and is a thriving part of a doctoral/research extensive university.
