Continuing Track Faculty Position In Social Entrepreneurship

The Department of Human Development and Family Sciences and Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware invite applications for a full-time, continuing track Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship. Candidates for this non-tenure track position must hold a Ph.D. in human development, family studies, social work, sociology, psychology, prevention science, education, social enterprise, entrepreneurship or a relevant field with extensive training and experience in solving social problems. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience and demonstrated skill in utilizing innovation and entrepreneurship to develop economically sustainable solutions to societal issues and vexing problems. This will be one of several new hires to build the areas of social entrepreneurship, leadership and community development. A workload emphasizing teaching, including undergraduate and graduate offerings related to social entrepreneurship and community empowerment, is anticipated. The position will also include an administrative appointment focused on the leadership of relevant curricular offerings (concentration, certificate, minor) and student advising. Participation in development/advancement activities is anticipated.

Qualified individuals should have a record of teaching excellence and be interested in establishing a long-term career at the University of Delaware. We are seeking an individual who understands best practices for entrepreneurship education, including an emphasis on evidence-based insights/practices, experiential learning and external engagement. We are also seeking an individual who is comfortable working across academic disciplines and spanning the boundaries between the University and the broader community.

The Department of Human Development & Family Sciences is an interdisciplinary department that focuses on the study of critical social issues affecting individuals, families, and communities, along with poverty and at-risk families and teacher education and professional development in early childhood ( The College of Education and Human Development is dedicated to finding answers to the problems that confront our communities and schools, and to develop solutions to the challenges faced by children, youth and families around the world –
