The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) degree program allows students to apply non-traditional credits (e.g., military, community college, technical) toward a baccalaureate degree. The program includes flexible design of concentrations in consultation with advisors and faculty. All majors in the program take three advanced courses. The senior lecturer will contribute to the teaching of these advanced required courses, be an integral member of the combined teaching/advising BAAS Unit, develop innovative and engaging teaching approaches, hold regular office hours, collaborate with advisors, assist with recruiting and outreach, contribute to regular planning and assessment, serve on college and university committees, and participate regularly in professional development. The BAAS Unit faculty members set an example for their students through active engagement in both university and community life. Teaching responsibilities include face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses taught at the main UNT campus as well as other locations in the North Texas area. Night and weekend classes may be included in the teaching load.

The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit – and takes actions to prevent – discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The University of North Texas System immediately investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.

The University of North Texas System also takes actions to prevent retaliation against individuals who oppose a discriminatory practice, file a charge, or testify, assist or participate in an investigative proceeding or hearing. Ph.D. (or ABD) or similar terminal degree.
