The Secure Old Age lab ( at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology seeks a postdoctoral researcher to start immediately. The project that will constitute a majority of the postdoc’s research efforts began in September 2016 and is funded by the Administration for Community Living. Building on the lab’s previous work, this project will investigate national models of elder abuse multidisciplinary teams, particularly focusing on the elder abuse forensic center model.

The postdoc will participate in planning, designing and conducting the research project, which will include primary data collection using survey, focus group, and observational approaches. They will be expected to contribute to presentations, publications, and written reports on the study and its findings. This is a temporary, fixed-term position for the period of one year. It is renewable for a second year, based on performance and availability of grant funding.

Essential qualifications:

Comfort with quantitative data management, analysis, and interpretation
High degree of proficiency with quantitative data analysis software (ideally SAS and/or Stata)
Experience working with survey data
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well with a diverse research team
Ability to work efficiently and independently
Desired qualifications:

Experience with evaluation research
Familiarity with the structure and function of multidisciplinary teams, ideally in elder abuse/mistreatment
Familiarity with qualitative or mixed method research approaches

Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years

Minimum Experience: 0-1 year

Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
