Singapore Management University, School of Social Sciences

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Public Policy at the Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor rank.

We are seeking candidates with a record of, or high potential for, scholarly research commensurate with the rank, as well as demonstrated teaching aptitude. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in Urban and Environmental Sustainability issues from a public policy perspective. A research focus on Asia is a plus.

The position requires a doctorate by the date of appointment. While the candidate appointed is expected to be part of the political science group, the School encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and those from relevant disciplines or interdisciplinary areas are welcome to apply. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach a relevant intro-level course in public management, and in the School’s Masters of Tri-Sector Collaboration, in addition to other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Singapore Management University is committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with faculty across the social sciences and professional schools. The research support is excellent, salary and benefits are highly competitive, and the teaching load is comparable to other research universities. Classes are capped at no more than 45 students.

Full evaluation of applications will start on 1 September 2017. Interviews for short-listed candidates will be conducted in September/October. The successful candidate will be expected to start at Singapore Management University in January/July 2018.
