The International Studies Department is a dynamic, interdisciplinary department that houses two programs: the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BAIS) and the Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS). Our mission is to provide students with the theoretical and analytical tools needed to engage in a critical examination of issues facing our world within an interactive learning environment centered on holistic education for the whole person to educate global citizens.
We are seeking applications from candidates with a Ph.D. in International Studies or related social science field with a regional focus in East Asia or Southeast Asia. Preference will be given to applicants whose work centers on global politics and institutions, trade, technology, or global health. Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should be able to teach one or more core courses in the undergraduate program (The World Since 1945, Introduction to International Politics, and/or The Global Economy), core courses in the graduate program, as well as courses on research methods and electives in their areas of substantive and regional emphasis. The standard teaching load for this position at USF is two 4-unit courses per semester with an additional third course every fourth semester (2-2-2-3 over two years). In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in service to the department, college, and university, as well as maintain an active research program that engages both undergraduate and graduate students when possible.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should have earned their doctorate by August 31, 2018. Applicants should articulate a commitment to interdisciplinary exploration and applied research with a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and a collaborative orientation.
