Morehead State University: The Department of Psychology invites applications for three positions (tenure-track assistant professor of clinical/counseling psychology, three-year visiting assistant professor of clinical/counseling psychology, and instructor of experimental psychology, behavioral neuroscience preferred) for August 2019. The department has an undergraduate program in psychology, an undergraduate program in neuroscience, and an MPCAC-accredited master’s program in clinical/counseling psychology. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Clinical/Counseling Psychology

Responsibilities: The position’s responsibilities are (a) teaching graduate courses in the master’s program in clinical psychology, (b) teaching undergraduate courses in one’s areas of competency (e.g., clinical, personality, social, introduction to psychology, or introduction to behavioral neuroscience), © developing and maintaining a research program involving students, and (d) participating in appropriate service activities.

Qualifications: Applicants must have, or expect to have by August 2019, a doctorate from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling program and be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. A PhD is preferred, but PsyD’s will be considered.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical/Counseling Psychology (3-Year Term)

Responsibilities: The position’s responsibilities are (a) teaching graduate courses in the master’s program in clinical psychology, and (b) teaching undergraduate courses in one’s areas of competency (e.g., clinical, personality, social, introduction to psychology, or introduction to behavioral neuroscience). Mentoring student research and participating in service activities are encouraged but not required.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling program and be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. Doctoral candidates from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling program will be considered, if there is sufficient evidence that the doctorate could be completed within one year of appointment to the position.

Instructor of Experimental Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience Preferred

Responsibilities: The position’s responsibilities are teaching 4 to 5 courses per semester, including introduction to psychology, introduction to behavioral neuroscience (preferably), and other courses as the Chair deems appropriate.

Qualifications: Completion of all requirements for the PhD by August 2019 would be preferred. PhD candidates and individuals with a master’s degree will be considered, if they have a record of effective teaching.
