Habib University’s Social Development and Policy Program is inviting applications for up to two open-rank positions in sociology from candidates with strong teaching and research credentials who will add to the thematic and methodological strengths of the program, and who can contribute to the teaching of our flagship University Liberal Core. Candidate who specialize in Sociology of Law/Environment/Development/public policy will be preferred. Successful candidates can anticipate a course load of 3-2. Appointment is expected to begin August 1, 2018. In certain cases, applications from candidates in the final stages of their Ph.D. may also be considered. Applications received by March 30th will get full consideration.
Successful candidates will bear the following profile:
- Doctoral degree
- Excellent teaching and scholarly credentials (in accordance with rank)
- Passion for undergraduate education
- Intellectual curiosity
- Ability to work well in teams in an interdisciplinary environment
