We are looking for a talented Research Assistant in Psychology. S/he will join an existing Science of Learning (SOL) research project, “Teacher-Child Neural Scaffolding for Executive Function & School Readiness”, funded by the Ministry of Education and led by PI Professor Victoria Leong at NTU. This project aims to identify objective neural hallmarks of successful teacher-child interaction and pedagogical behaviour that predict children’s emerging executive function neurocircuitry and school readiness in both typically developing children and children with neurodevelopmental risk factors.
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge social neuroscience research with children and teachers (involving dyadic-EEG acquisition and analysis), including children with (or at risk for) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Key Responsibilities

Assist with conducting the research project
-
Recruit preschool providers, teachers and families
-
Collect data of children and teachers including EEG recordings, questionnaires, observations and standardized developmental tests in the laboratory and at preschools

Organize and contribute to webinars for parents and teachers
-
Assist with data analyses and delivery of key research outputs, e.g., conference presentations and publications
-
Assist with data coding of video and audio data for behavioural analysis of adult-child social interaction and synchrony
-
Provide other administrative and research support to the PI where necessary
Job Requirements
Essential skills
-
A good Bachelors degree (at least second-upper) in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Sciences or related Technical and Computational fields

Experience with human psychological data collection, working with children and families
-
Excellent project management and organisational skills
-
Efficient, organised and self-motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines
-
A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desired skills
-
Experience with EEG data collection
-
Skills in programming and/or computational analysis of data
-
Experience in conducting clinical-psychological assessments
-
Interest in teacher-child social interaction and the early development of executive functions and cognition
