The University of North Texas invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty director to lead the Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) degree program. This position is a 12-month appointment beginning Fall 2017 and reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach and Dean of New College. The BAAS is a multidisciplinary program designed specifically for transfer students and veterans with military credits. It has been a strong part of UNT degree offerings since the 1970’s and has become increasingly important as the state prioritizes student completion of post-secondary credentials, including those in technical fields. The BAAS degree program is housed in New College, a recently formed division at UNT.

The successful applicant must be an innovative and collaborative leader with the capacity to cultivate strong institutional and community relationships that foster student success. S(he) will be responsible for direction and oversight of BAAS faculty and curriculum as well as developing and maintaining significant relationship with community college partners. Responsibilities for this position also include teaching two undergraduate courses from the BAAS core each fall and spring semester, management of program course scheduling, and budgetary oversight.

The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit – and takes actions to prevent – discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The University of North Texas System immediately investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.
