The African American and Africana Studies Program and Department of Political Science at the University of Kentucky seek an Assistant or Associate Professor of Political Science. The position is Regular Title Series with a tenure home in Political Science. The African American and Africana Studies Program (AAAS) is an interdisciplinary program that advances the study of African American Studies, African Studies and African Diaspora Studies. The position is a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor whose teaching and service will be evenly allocated between AAAS and Political Science. The area of specialization is American Politics with an emphasis on the impact of race, gender, social identity, and popular culture in electoral politics, political institutions, and/ or civic involvement. We are particularly interested in individuals with the ability to teach courses in research methods. A Ph.D. is required at time of application and with demonstrated research in his/her field.

Applicants should submit six documents: 1) letter of application, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) statement of current research projects (upload as Specific Request 1), 4) evidence of teaching effectiveness (upload as Specific Request 2), 5) writing sample, and 6) copy of one representative publication (upload as Specific Request 3). Also provide the names and contact information for three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information will be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system.
