Instructor in Administration of Justice

The Penn State DuBois and Greater Allegheny campuses invite applications for an Instructor in Administration of Justice, (multi-year appointment, 36 weeks) to begin August 2017, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities: Teach four courses (12 credits) in Criminal Justice, using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Expertise in law enforcement, corrections, and/or the Juvenile Justice System is desirable. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. This position is dedicated to the delivery of a regional baccalaureate program in Administration of Justice offered jointly by Penn State DuBois and Penn State Greater Allegheny. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty at both campuses to deliver a portion of the curriculum using a variety of distance delivery methods. Qualifications: J.D. or Masters degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline, such as Sociology, Political Science, or Anthropology. PhD. preferred. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

The coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors, as well as 12 baccalaureate degrees and 9 Associate degrees, are offered across the two campuses.
