The School of Social Sciences at NTU offers a stimulating and multidisciplinary education and research in the social sciences, and is home to four major disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (Economics, Psychology, Sociology and Public Policy and Global Affairs).
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant in Economics for a six-month position to support a randomized experiment on social mobility expectations. The role involves assisting with survey design, managing experimental implementation, analyzing data using statistical software (e.g., Stata or Python), and contributing to literature reviews and academic writing. This position offers hands-on research experience at the intersection of behavioral economics and household finance.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and implementation of a randomized controlled trial (RCT)

Develop, test, and deploy survey instruments and treatment materials (e.g., visuals, text framing)

Manage participant recruitment, randomization protocols, and data collection logistics

Clean and analyze survey data using Stata, R, or Python

Conduct literature reviews on housing affordability, expectation formation, and behavioral responses to policy
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related field

Familiarity with RCTs or behavioral experiments

Proficiency in Stata, R, or Python

Strong writing and communication skills

Prior research experience is an advantage
