The Professional Mentoring Coordinator will lead the College Professional Mentoring Program including working with an advisory board; creating promotional materials; working directly with professionals in the field and administration; and developing a pool of mentors representing multiple professional areas. He/she will interact directly with undergraduate and graduate students, individually and in groups, online and across campus(es) to promote active engagement and support student-mentor relationships with respect to student’s work aspirations. The director will develop relationships with friends and alumni of the college to engage them as mentors, which will involve some travel; and will work directly with faculty and staff including student and mentor recruitment, database management, technology, marketing and communications including social media, and student services providing transformational experiences for majors.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a content area represented within the College or extensive work history in a content area represented within the College.
Excellent organization and management skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a discipline or field within the College of Human Ecology.
Prior experience as a mentor working with diverse student and professional populations.
Professional post-baccalaureate work experience in a human ecology related discipline or field.
Previous successful work in an academic/university community
Demonstrated skill and capacity in teleconferencing and database software
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team as well as work effectively independently.
