Faculty, Tenure Track, Assistant Professor - Marriage and Family Therapy
: Faculty - Non Tenure Track (FT)
Responsible for instruction of 12 credits or their equivalent per semester, within Marriage and Family Therapy or Family Science. Serve as Clinical Director for the MFT program area. Responsible for program and course development and maintenance. Meets requirements for service to the University, including departmental meetings and committee work. Participates in area community activities. Continues professional growth as evidenced by research, publication, involvement in professional associations and continuing education.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy or a doctorate from an accredited institution in a related discipline, AND an earned LMFT from an accredited MFT program with a minimum of two years post masters clinical experience, AND experience in teaching a at a post-secondary education institution as indicated on the curriculum vitae.
Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Ability to teach two of the following: Lifespan Development, Early Development, Adult Development, Ethics, Systemic Assessment and Diagnosis, Research Methods, Couple, Group, Individual, or Family Therapy. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- In depth knowledge of marriage and family therapy. Knowledge of COAMFTE accreditation and AAMFT clinical practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent community relations skills.
- Ability to apply research principles while engaging students.
- Ability to develop or adapt new course curriculum.
- Ability to develop hybrid and online courses.
Experience with marriage and family therapy program administration. Experience teaching or learning in an online environment as indicated on the curriculum vitae.
Frequent standing, sitting, and walking; continuous ability to see, hear, and speak; able to lift up to 10 pounds; frequent fine hand manipulation as associated with the use of a computer.
