The Academic Advisor is responsible for providing individual advising to approximately 400 undergraduate students in various academic programs in the School of Family Studies and Human Services and for facilitating the academic development of students, assisting them with their academic goals and evaluating progress towards those goals. This person reports to the School Director.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Counseling (or relevant field)
One year of relevant experience

Other Requirements:
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse people in a variety of situations
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet deadlines, be detail-oriented and prioritize tasks
Adherence to strict confidentiality and other ethical standards
Strong personal computer skills
