The undergraduate Social Work Program at St. Edward's University is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education, and is considering the introduction of a graduate/MSW program. We seek experienced and qualified applicants at the rank of Assistant Professor with a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and mentoring, strong communication skills, and collegiality. The candidate is expected to teach a variety of courses commonly found within CSWE-accredited programs, with the potential to serve as the undergraduate Field Director. Areas of specialization are open.

The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester (with the opportunity to apply for additional course reassignments based on research activity; Field Director receives one course reassignment), advise undergraduate students, and participate in the wider life of the university and community. Scholarly activity is expected, especially to the degree that it may involve or inspire students or have positive contributions to teaching and learning. Teaching responsibilities will include core Social Work courses, as well as developing courses in their area of expertise.
Ph.D. in Social Work or related field required. MSW and two years post-MSW practice experience required. Previous teaching experience strongly preferred. Strong commitment to, and potential for excellence in, undergraduate and graduate teaching is required. Successful candidate must complete an education and/or criminal background check.
