The Counseling Program at UNT seeks a faculty member with a demonstrated record of strength in research, leadership, and teaching to support the program's scholarly, professional, and academic initiatives. This position will contribute to the program, college, and university's commitment to maintain excellence at the national level. The individual selected will serve a nine-month, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall semester 2018. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Part-time summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (1) pursuing a focused line of research leading to publications in refereed journals and to extramural funding; (2) teaching two courses each semester in CACREP core and counseling specialty areas; (3) serving on doctoral committees and advising/mentoring students; (4) providing clinical supervision to master's and doctoral level students; (5) working with faculty members in the Counseling Program and with those centers, institutes, and clinics affiliated with the Program to maintain and enhance the Program's national stature; and (6) participating actively in professional organizations and university committees.

The candidate must hold a doctorate in counseling or counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program and must be licensure-eligible as a Professional Counselor in Texas. A record of effective research, publication, professional activity, teaching, and clinical supervision is expected. Applicants should meet standards for appointment to associate or full rank equivalent to a research institution. Qualifications include an established national reputation in one or more specialty areas such as couple and family counseling, school counseling, transpersonal counseling, and/or other area of expertise.

The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The University of North Texas System immediately investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.

The University of North Texas System also takes actions to prevent retaliation against individuals who oppose a discriminatory practice, file a charge, or testify, assist or participate in an investigative proceeding or hearing.
