Kean University also operates a unique, additional location in Wenzhou-China, where development of a full-scale campus is currently underway.

All open faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1, 2019, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses are taught at the Union campus but some positions may include assignments at Kean Ocean in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.

Nathan Weiss Graduate College

Department of Graduate Social Work
Social Work – to teach masters-level courses including, but not limited to: Research; Clinical Practice; Social Welfare Policy; Trauma; and Psychopathology. Candidate must have an active research agenda and record of scholarly work; proven record of outreach to the professional practice community; commitment to teaching diverse adult learners; ability to create an engaging learning environment where the dignity and worth of others is realized; knowledge of CSWE EPAS 2015 social work competencies; willingness to serve as a liaison for students in the field education practicum experience; dedication to cultural competence, cultural awareness and diversity; a record of applying and demonstrating the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and Standards; and support the University’s mission.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Social Work or a related discipline; teaching experience; a minimum of three years of social work practice experience; and eligibility for New Jersey Social Work License is required. Candidate must have a strong interest in teaching clinical courses. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2019.
