Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a Homeland Security faculty member to teach undergraduate courses in homeland security-related disciplines, and develop and teach undergraduate- and graduate-level course related to intelligence, global security, law and policy, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate and experience in the intelligence field.

Embry-Riddle seeks a faculty member for the Security Studies and International Affairs (SSIA) Department with general expertise in homeland security-related disciplines with a focus on topics related to the field of intelligence studies. The preferred candidate should have two or more years of teaching experience in higher education and an earned doctorate in Law, Government, International History, Intelligence Studies/Analysis, International Relations, Geospatial Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a discipline closely related to the Homeland Security intelligence field. Experience with intelligence-related technology, geospatial intelligence, analysis of big data, and/or simulation tools is preferred, and related field or research experience is a plus. Primary tasks will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate course and program development, relationship building with external organizations and agencies, and student academic advising. Teaching obligations both undergraduate and graduate courses with the flexibility to cover a variety of Homeland Security-related topics. Other essential duties include discipline-related research, scholarship, curriculum development, and committee participation as well as duties assigned to support the academic programs and other functions of the SSIA Department. This is a nine-month position, renewed annually, with the possibility of summer teaching assignments.
