Assistant Professor in Quantitative Psychology
University of Massachusetts Lowell
Full-Time, Benefited

The Psychology Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell announces an opening for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Quantitative Psychology to begin September 2018.

Responsibilities of this position include maintaining an active program of research, including pursuit of external funding, teaching advanced quantitative courses at the graduate level as well as undergraduate research methods and statistics, and departmental service in quantitative consultation to faculty and students.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell is a top-tier university that has advanced in national rankings more than almost any other university in the country over the past three years, and it offers an excellent salary-and-benefits package and course reductions for faculty who meet university and college standards of research productivity (i.e. two courses per semester). The Department of Psychology is one of the largest academic units on campus with 24 full-time faculty, both an on-campus and online B.A, two master's programs, and a new doctoral program in Applied Psychology and Prevention Science. The department has strong ties to the community of Lowell, a mid-sized city with a diverse population located 25 miles northwest of Boston. Information about the department is available at www.uml.edu/psychology.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
•     Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., Education or Public Health) and specialization in Quantitative Methodology (must have Ph.D. by the time of appointment)
•     A record of publication using advanced statistical methods, e.g., longitudinal data analysis, structural equation modeling, multilevel analysis methods, psychometrics, Bayesian statistics, and simulation methods
•     A strong commitment to, and evidence of high-quality teaching of research methodology and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels
•     A history of, or potential for, obtaining external funding

Preferred Qualifications:
•     Applicants with substantive research programs that complement our master’s programs in Community Psychology and Autism Studies, or our new Ph.D. program in Applied Psychology and Prevention Science—Applied Developmental, Applied Cognitive, and Applied Community Social areas—will be given preference.

Special Instructions to Applicants:
Please submit a current CV, cover letter outlining qualifications, teaching statement/philosophy, research statement, sample of scholarly work/publication of two selected reprints. Names and email addresses of three references will also be required during the application process. The references will be notified and should upload recommendation letters. Only recommendation letters that are uploaded to the system by the referee will be accepted. Emailed or hardcopy letters will not be accepted.

To apply, please submit materials to: http://explorejobs.uml.edu/lowell/en-us/job/493706/assistant-professor-in-quantitative-psychology

Application review will begin by November 13, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled. However, the position may close once an adequate number of qualified applications are received.

For questions regarding our current graduate courses in quantitative psychology, please contact Joseph Gonzales at Joseph_Gonzales@uml.edu.
